Girls’ Rooms
I’ve been told that I should not separate boys’ rooms from girls’ rooms and, indeed, I do so here mostly for the sake of practicality. I have painted beaches for boys and jungle animals for girls. Blue skies and starscapes know no gender. I think, however, we can all concede that there are some themes that are uniquely feminine, such as anything with flowers. I designed this mural of gigantic daisies and mushrooms as a girl’s room with “Honey, I shrunk the kids” in mind. I could just as happily have adapted this idea to suit a boy’s space or a playroom for brothers and sisters to share.
